{"id":101,"date":"2020-12-10T12:17:08","date_gmt":"2020-12-10T12:17:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/industrialheritageireland.info\/Blog\/?p=101"},"modified":"2020-12-10T12:17:08","modified_gmt":"2020-12-10T12:17:08","slug":"iveagh-markets-a-new-twist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/industrialheritageireland.info\/Blog\/index.php\/2020\/12\/10\/iveagh-markets-a-new-twist\/","title":{"rendered":"Iveagh Markets &#8211; a new twist"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Iveagh Markets in Dublin 8 have been an on\/off story over the last few years, due to proposals to re-develop the site by a publican\/property developer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the failure of same to actually carry out the proposals, Dublin City Council re-took possession of the Iveagh Markets and legal action ensued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There has now been a new twist in the saga &#8211; when the Iveagh Markets were transferred to Dublin Corporation (as it was then) shortly after its completion, a reverter clause was included which required the building to be used as a market for locals in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lord Iveagh activated the reverter clause earlier this week and has re-taken possession of the building and had new locks applied.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Iveagh Markets in Dublin 8 have been an on\/off story over the last few years, due to proposals to re-develop the site by a publican\/property developer.
