{"id":554,"date":"2022-03-07T08:07:39","date_gmt":"2022-03-07T08:07:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/industrialheritageireland.info\/Blog\/?p=554"},"modified":"2022-03-16T18:08:39","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T18:08:39","slug":"caca-milis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/industrialheritageireland.info\/Blog\/index.php\/2022\/03\/07\/caca-milis\/","title":{"rendered":"C\u00e1ca Milis"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>C\u00e1ca Milis<\/em> is an Irish language short film which, I have been reliably informed, was imposed onto Irish teenagers as part of the Leaving Cert Irish syllabus sometime after its production.*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SW-tdaO2s9o\">Youtube<\/a> &#8211; the plotline is quite disturbing and can be read <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/C%C3%A1ca_Milis\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The relevance to this website is that almost the entire film takes place on a train in Ireland. Whilst searching online for this film, I found a website &#8211;  the British Railway Movie Database &#8211; which notes movies which feature British and Irish railway stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their page for <em><a href=\"http:\/\/railwaymoviedatabase.com\/caca-milis\/\">C\u00e1ca Milis<\/a><\/em> included some screenshots of the stations featured, but noted that they did not have information as to where the stations were.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was able to identify the unidentified locations and this information has now been updated by the site owner, with acknowledgement of my contribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>* I am sorry to have to show my age by noting that I did my Leaving Cert before this film was produced and therefore missed having it imposed onto me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>C\u00e1ca Milis is an Irish language short film which, I have been reliably informed, was imposed onto Irish teenagers as part of the Leaving Cert Irish syllabus sometime after its production.* It is available on Youtube &#8211; the plotline is quite disturbing and can be read here.
