This publication represents a concise photographic record of the Irish narrow gauge, with a brief history of how the narrow gauge developed, ending in its decline as part of the overall decline of railways in Ireland, North and South. Photographs display scenes long since disappeared including the narrow gauge running side by side with standard gauge into Larne and the double track narrow gauge line in Cork. Overall, it is well illustrated and a worthwhile review of a group of systems that became uniquely Irish.
