Site Description

The station here opened in 1871. There was a wartime block post here, opened in 1943 and remaining in use until 1956. During the construction of the airfield in World War I, there was a three mile siding from ¼ mile north of the station to the site of the airfield. This remained in situ until the 1930's. Aldergrove serves as both an RAF base and as Belfast International Airport and is on the Up side of the line here.
