Site Description

Opened originally in 1871 and reopened in 1974, the loop was installed in 1978. The through line or ‘fast loop’ serves the Down platform, while the Up platform is served by the ‘slow loop’. The former goods area, with a store, loading bank and sidings, is on the Down side, as is the disused station building. The former stationmaster’s house is on the Down side behind the station building.
