Site Description

There was a signal cabin, loop and sidings here until 1960. There are both Up and Down platforms at this station which reopened in 1974, having opened in 1871, but that on the Down side is disused and overgrown. The running line serves the Up platform, on which was the station building. This was demolished in 2001. The former stationmaster's house is behind this. The former goods yard was on the same side and contained a loading bank and a store, the latter beside the platform. North of the station, the line crosses the Glenavy River.
