Reopened in 1995, Great Victoria Street was the real "Central" station in Belfast. Adjoining the Europa bus station and hotel, with a link from the "Great Northern" shopping centre, the station was officially opened by Sir Patrick Mayhew, Secretary of State for Northern
Ireland. There was also a link to Glengall Street and another to Hope Street, there being a small car park on the latter. There were four platforms on the site of the Ulster Railway's Belfast terminal which had closed in 1976, two of which extended under the Boyne Bridge,
built in 1934-6 to replace an earlier one of 1863 which in turn had replaced a level crossing.
The station closed in 2024 as part of the building of Grand Central Station.
