Site Description

Opened in 1907, there are both Up and Down platforms here. There was a goods store and siding on the Up side before the station. These were for William Barbour & Sons linen mill. A former red brick mill can be seen on the Up side at the Belfast end of the station. In 1983, there was an accident north of Hilden in which the train driver was killed. North of Hilden there is a low level embankment which shows the original land take for the UR.
