The derelict station buildings are on the Up platform at this station that has staggered platforms, connected by a footbridge. There is a waiting shelter on the Down platform. The base of the signal cabin can be seen at the Cork end of the Up platform. Beyond the station,
the line runs alongside the mouth of Cork Harbour on the Up side. The CB&PR ran along the opposite coast en route to Crosshaven, until this route closed in 1932.
