Site Description

Approaching the station, the line crosses a six span steel viaduct. The platforms here were originally staggered either side of an accommodation level crossing, with the station buildings on the Down platform. However, a new Down platform was subsequently constructed opposite the Up platform and the original Down platform decomissioned. The station's sole purpose is to serve the adjacent wildlife park of the same name, there being no public road access to it. There was a trailing siding on the Down side. Leaving the station, the line crosses a three span steel viaduct and a further causeway, at the end of which is a Martello Tower.
