Site Description
By all accounts, Graving Dock station was a mean little affair. With two short platforms and a station building that owed its style more to a storage shed than the principal station of the company, the fact that it has been levelled is no surprise. The station was located on
Strand Road in Derry, between the road and the River Foyle.
Other facilities at the site included a goods store and cattle pens. At the Buncrana end of the station, the line veered left and crossed Strand Road obliquely. There was previously a signal cabin at this location, but it was demolished to make way for a power station.
