Site Description

Magilligan Point was the end of a short lived line from Magilligan which operated in 1855. It appears to have run for only 4 months (July to October) and was horse worked. There are suggestions that the line was also 4'8" gauge. It was one of only two public railways in Ireland not authorised by an Act of Parliament.
