Site Description
Approaching the station, the line spanned the Donagh River by a viaduct. Immediately before this, there was a facing siding on the Down side. Carndonagh was the terminus of the line from Derry (Graving Dock Station). There was only one platform - on the Up side. On this
was the station building. The water tower and signal cabin were on the same side. On the Down side of the station, there was a carriage shed, loading bank, goods store and cattle pens. At the Derry end of the station, there was a trailing siding to a turntable off which gave
access to the locomotive shed.
