Site Description
Closed in 1940, the line from Letterkenny to Gweedore reopened in 1941 due to wartime petrol shortages. Only traces of the station remain today. It was located at the junction of the N56 and R258. There was a station building, two platforms and a goods siding. Due to a lack of a turntable, for the 6 years between 1941 and 1947 when the line from Letterkenny was reopened, locomotives had to return to Letterkenny tender first.Photographs
