Saint Johnston was a small station on the line between Strabane and Derry. It was also one of the three stations in the Free State/ Republic of Ireland between 1922 and closure in 1965. This gave it (and the other two stations) the unusual status of being owned and staffed
by CIE between 1958 and 1965, but not served by any CIE trains.
There were both Up and Down platforms here with the station building and separate stationmasters house on the Down side. The signal cabin was on the same side at the Enniskillen end of the station. Opposite was the goods store and siding.
North of the station, the line crossed a level crossing immediately followed by a bridge over a river - a tributary of the Foyle.
