Site Description
No trace of the station remains today - the site being occupied by a modern bus station. Stranorlar was an extensive station, being the head office of the CDRJC and a junction for lines to Donegal and Glenties. On approach from Strabane, the works were on the Down
side with the east cabin on the Up side. There was also a turntable here. There were both Up and Down platforms at the station itself with the station building on the Up side. The Glenties line ran straight ahead at the west end of the Up platform - the layout not
facilitating access to/from the Down platform for this branch. The Donegal line curved away to the left at this point and there was a turntable and the West cabin in the apex between the two lines.
There is a memorial to the railway at the station entrance.
