Site Description
The station building here, constructed to suit the local Marquis of Arva is a fine example of railway architecture. There is a stone bearing the initials "DA", surmounted by a coronet built into the building, facing the track. A private driveway attached to the estate passes under the line at the Belfast end of the station. Built into the face of each side of the bridge is a coat of arms. The platforms are connected by a subway, which also gives access to the estate and roadway on the Up side. Historically, there was a signal cabin at the Bangor end of the Down platform, beyond which was the goods area and siding.Photographs
