Site Description

This is a two platform station with a retail unit at the northern end of the station. The station is located more or less where the former Ranelagh & Rathmines station of the Harcourt Street line was. In railway days, the line was carried on an embankment north and south of Dunville Avenue (the road at the north end of the station) with a bridge over the road. The embankment was removed as part of the LUAS construction work. This now hampers the upgrading of the line to metro standard. There is an emergency crossover south of the station.
