Site Description

There are two platforms at this, the intermediate station on the original D&KR route. The station building is on the Up side. Whilst not the original, it dates from 1841 and as such, is one of the earliest in Ireland. There were previously railway owned sea baths on the seaward side of the station but these have been demolished. On the Up side there is a car park and bus interchange. There is ramp access from the station building to the Up platform. South of the station, there is an external footbridge giving access to a promenade beside the line. This contains some original D&KR stone sleepers.
