Site Description
There was a station here from 1844 to 1850 and from 1898 until 1956. There were Up and Down wooden platforms, neither of which remain. The red brick house at the Connolly station end of the site on the Up side at road level is the former residence for the stationmaster at Amiens Street Station. Prior to its replacement in modern times, the road underbridge carrying the line at the north end of the station site had the coat of arms of both Dublin and Drogheda are built into the bridge, that for Dublin on the south side and that of Drogheda on the north.Photographs
