Site Description
Approaching the station, there is an electricity sub station for power supply to the DART on the Down side. Between this and the track is a public footpath to allow for easier pedestrian access to the station. The station building is at the Rosslare end of the Down platform, the Up platform is connected to this by a subway and by separate ramp access. There is a level crossing at the same end of the station, before which on the Down side was the signal cabin. The station here has had a chequered existence. The station opened in February 1835 and closed in April 1841. It reopened in February 1860 and closed again in May 1862. The station reopened in March 1882 but closed on 1st October 1901. It reopened on 5th March 1928 and closed again on 13th June 1960. The station reopened on 23rd July 1984 as part of the DART network.Photographs
