Site Description
Approaching the station, a windmill can be seen in the town on the Up side. This is the Skerries Mill complex owned and managed by Fingal County Council. There are both Up and Down platforms here, with the station building on the Up platform. The former
stationmaster's house, now a private residence, is on the same side at the Dublin end of the station. The Down platform is connected to that on the Up side by a lift accessible footbridge, the former subway remains but is out of use. The disused signal cabin is at the Belfast
end of the Down platform, beside which is a radio aerial. Opposite, there is a loop, off which, there is a trailing siding serving a disused loading bank, extending behind the Up platform. The disused goods store is on this. This area is now in use as a bus depot. At the
same end on the Up side, there is a depression which was previously a rail served ballast pit. It is now in use as a sports field.
