Site Description
Approaching the station, the former powerhouse of the Hill of Howth Tramway is on the Up side. It has been converted to apartments. On the Up side before the station is the disused signal cabin, immediately after which is a level crossing. The station here has both Up and Down platforms, with the station building with canopy on the Up platform. The canopy supports bear the initials "GNRI" wrought into the ironwork. Beyond this is the car park and at the Howth end of this is the former stationmaster's house, now a private residence. For the four years that the section from here to Howth was single, the Down platform was used as a bay for Baldoyle Race traffic, the second line being used as a siding for storage of vehicles.Photographs
