Approaching the station, a fertiliser siding previously diverged on the Up side. This and the former goods store on the same side are all that remain of the former goods area. The former signal cabin is on the Up side at the Mallow end of the station.
There are both Up and Down platforms, with the station building on the Up side. That on the Down side had a bay behind it for trains on the branch to Valentia Harbour, at one stage, the most westerly railhead in Europe, which trailed in on the Down side. This line was
closed in 1960. The remains of a water tower exist at the Tralee end of the station, beyond which is an automatic level crossing. Kerry Airport is on the Up side after this.
