Site Description
No trace remains of the former halt here, which had both Up and Down platforms used for race traffic. There was a signal cabin here until 1976. On the Down side at the Cork end of the station, there was a trailing siding which led to a separate station at the racecourse. This closed in 1977. The Curragh racecourse can be clearly seen on the Down side. Before the halt, in the distance on the Down side can be seen the fire station at the Curragh Army Camp. The camp previously had its own narrow gauge industrial railway, since removed.Photographs
