Site Description
Approaching the station, the line from Arigna trailed in on the Down side and parallels the mainline. The layout at Ballinamore was quite extensive as the head office of the company was here. There were both Up and Down platforms with the station building on the Down side. Behind the Up platform was the works and carriage shed along with a coal shed and turntable. At the Belturbet end of the station was the goods are with loading bank, stores and sidings.
The station was used in later years as a secondary school. Redevelopment work to convert the complex (including restoration of the historic buildings) to a community development called "The Junction" commenced in 2021.
