Site Description

Approaching the station, a turnout gives access to a loop on the Down side, serving this platform with the running line serving the Up platform. On the Down platform are a disused waiting shelter, the base of a water tower and the reconstructed signal cabin. The latter was dismantled during platform extension works and subsequently reassembled. It and the water tower base are protected structures. The station building is on the Up platform. A MGWR style footbridge made in Manistys in Dundalk connects the two platforms. The former goods area was where the car park is now located, no trace of the goods facilities remaining.
