Site Description

Horseleap was the only intermediate station on the railway from Streamstown to Clara. Whiskey from Locke's Distillery in Kilbeggan was transported on the railway network through the station as the nearest station to Kilbeggan. There was a platform on the Up side on which was the two storey station building and a loading bank, store and 1.5 tonne hand crane on the Down side. This was accessed by a loop off the running line.
