Site Description
The former signal cabin is on the Down side at the Mullingar end of this station, immediately after which is a level crossing.
There was a loop on the Down side with a trailing siding connected to this. There are both Up and Down platforms here on the Galway side of the crossing. The running line served that on the Up side, upon which are the station buildings. There is a shelter on the Down platform. Both
platforms are connected by a footbridge. There is a loading bank and the site of a siding behind the Down platform. There is a water tower at the Mullingar end of the Up platform with the former goods area, complete with store, loading bank and the site of goods and cattle sidings at the
Athlone end of the station on the same side.
