Site Description
There is a loop on the Up side, into which, the closed line from Waterford trails. This acts as the running line for trains from the Waterford direction. The station buildings are on the Down platform, which is served by the running line. There was previously a signal cabin at the Dublin end of this. There was originally a loop on the Waterford line, thereby forming a double junction, however, this was removed in 1973. There is also an Up platform, behind which was a siding and loading bank of which no trace remain. There is a high water tank on the same side. There is a footbridge at the Rosslare Harbour end of the station. This was installed in 2001, replacing the previous bridge which came from New Ross after an incident on 23rd July 1967 when steps from the road overbridge to the Up platform collapsed due to the weight of passengers thereon.Photographs
