Site Description
The station at the Murrough was the original terminus of the line from Harcourt Street. When the line was extended towards Rathdrum, this left from north of the station at Wicklow Junction. Trains continued to run into the Murrough, reversing back out to continue their journey. This continued until the present Wicklow Station opened in 1885. The station building remains, albeit in non railway use. There was a tramway from the station to the harbour.Photographs
