Taken from what is now the car park, this view is looking back towards Dublin. The Down starter signal can be seen to the right of the photo, with the signal cabin (a protected structure) in the centre. The footbridge over the Royal Canal has been condemned and the low level bridge was taken from the Straffan Road (road overbridge at the Dublin end of the station) as it was no longer necessary due to the rebuilidng of that bridge. The canal footbridge is, to this day, still a temporary structure.
