When the GS&WR tried to gain access to Amiens Street (Connolly) Station at the start of the 20th Century - on foot of an Act of Parliament that
authorised them to do so, they were hindered by the DW&WR, as operators of the CDJR, stating that two of their carriage sidings would be
obliterated if the GS&WR line came in to the station. These raised sidings were built for the DW&WR to kill off their objection.
