Ballybrophy
County Laois
Latitude 52.899377 Longitude -7.6046741
Date taken: 22/02/1997

Ballybrophy is a throwback to a railway past in that it is a location that only exists because of the railway. Used as a back door route into Limerick by the GS&WR, the line from here to Killonan (about 4 miles east of Limerick) gave the GS&WR a connection to Limerick that left only 4 miles from the city, rather than 21 miles at Limerick Junction.
