Claremorris
County Mayo
Latitude 53.72073 Longitude -9.00234
Date taken: 01/03/1997

Claremorris was a significant railway junction in its day. Railways left the town in no less than five directions - Westport, Dublin, Athenry, Collooney and Ballinrobe. Nowadays, only the line from Dublin to Westport remains. However, the line from Athenry may be restored in the next decade. The longer term future of the line to Collooney, however, is not certain. The latter remains in situ but long out of use.
