Liffey Junction
County Dublin
Latitude 53.371366 Longitude -6.29298
Date taken: 22/03/1997

In 1997, the track through Liffey Junction was slewed to give an easier curve off the Liffey Line - since 1937 the mainline to Sligo after Broadstone closed. The track through the "junction" was still pointing to the trackbed of the Broadstone Line with a sharp curve to what had been the branch. By demolishing the Down island platform, the lines were moved to an easier curve - the Down line first and then the Up.
