Woodlawn is one of two minor stations between Ballinasloe and Athenry, the survival of which is something of a mystery. Although a passing loop for
many years, a status which it lost when the signal cabin - seen here on the right - closed as a block post, there was only ever an Up platform and
therefore only one train of two crossing here could be accessed by passengers. The loop has since been reinstated as part of mini CTC.
