Looking towards Sligo, Maynooth was a block post with a single line section on either side (to Clonsilla to the east and to Enfield to the west). A rail train is in the loop, probably awaiting clearance to proceed to Enfield. The original 1981 station building (with later stationmaster's office) can be seen. The footbridge (since replaced) was transferred here from Lansdowne Road.
