Connolly Station
County Dublin
Latitude 53.351477 Longitude -6.2497696
Date taken: 04/10/1997

Located in the suburban section of the station, the water tank here was the CDJR tank. Up to 1925, the water supply came from the Grand Canal and was piped to here by means of a pipe alongside the railway which sat atop the embankment retaining wall. Post 1925, when the railways were merged into the GSR, this company had in its possession the Royal Canal (adjacent to Connolly Station) and so the water source was changed to the Royal Canal and the flow in the pipe reversed to supply the ex D&KR tanks.
