Until 1882, there was a station here and another half a mile to the south called Ballybrack. In 1882, both closed and Killiney & Ballybrack (now Killiney DART station) opened in lieu. In the 1890s, the old station house (behind the wall here) was used as accommodation for the stationmaster at the new station. My great grandmother was born in this house, her father being the stationmaster at the time.
