Closed in 1975 and lifted in 1988 after an unsuccessful attempt by WESTRAIL to preserve it, at least half of the trackbed is due to be eliminated at
the Loughrea end of the line by a road. At the Attymon end, Irish Rail have used it as an access road into the station.
