The station at Killarney is prima facie evidence of the failure to co-ordinate development of the railway network. It was built without thought as to
future extension of the line beyond Killarney with the result that when this happened, the line to Tralee diverges before the station. This requires
trains serving the station to reverse into/out of the station when travelling to/from Mallow.
