The Past and Present format is to take a historical photograph and retake a modern day photograph at the same location and compare the two. Michael Baker has done an excellent job of this for the Greater Dublin area. Published in 1997, if he were to repeat the exercise today, as much change again has probably taken place in the last decade, most of it negative from a heritage perspective.
Factual errors that I noticed are on Page 84, the station shown is Coolmine and not Castleknock and on Page 85, the modern day photo is taken at Lucan North station.
Days Hotel Belfast - located in a lovely area of Belfast where the Union Jack flies from every lamppost and the kerbstones are painted blue white and red.
